Any currently enrolled student from class 8 to class 12 is eligible to participate in the Olympiad.

Preparation

It's nearly impossible to complete this huge book within this short time, so read properly the Important and Unknown topics like Rocks, Minerals, Volcanoes etc. And if possible, you should take a look at the whole book for gaining basic knowledge in Earth Science.
Though it seems huge, the topics are really interesting and easy. Especially read about the Environmental Topics, Different Conference, Congress, as these are the excluding parts of Earth Science.
Above all try to keep basic knowledge about all parts of Earth Science, especially Geology, Hydrology and Environment. General Knowledge about Bangladesh, especially Renewable Energy, Natural Resources will be worthwhile.

More resource about preparation can be found hereThese are not much necessary for the Divisional Rounds, but will really help you to learn more about Earth Science.

    1. So you're taking part in the Olympiads to get admitted into a good college in abroad, which means you've no passion for not only Earth Science but also Math and Physics. Participating in Olympiads is nothing but a profit and loss statement for you and I am out of words to say anything. Good Luck!

    2. Paradoxically the 3 winners of National Earth Olympiad 2012 are studying at Columbia, Cornell and Amherst College! And one of them is going to study Earth Science at Cornell!
