Astronomy Olympiad Papers 2016

Solving problems from the previous Olympiad papers is an excellent way to prepare for any Olympiad. The purpose of this post is to share the recent papers of USA Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad and Indian Astronomy Olympiad in order to help you with the upcoming national round of Bangladesh Astronomy Olympiad. Do try to come out with your own solution first, and then, review their solution.

A personal note: In the chronicles of Bangladesh Astronomy Olympiad, students have observed the tendency to repeat the problems of Indian National Astronomy Olympiad in Bangladesh's Astronomy Olympiad, which undoubtedly shows the ineptitude of the problem setter. However, I'm hoping that there won't be any repetition of Indian Astronomy Olympiad's problems and participants will get a fair chance. Best wishes for all of you!

An Introduction to Modern Astrophysics

Since the National Astronomy Olympiad is coming up and there's been several complaints regarding the paucity of this amazing astronomy textbook, I've uploaded the book in the Dropbox.  It's in a DjView format. If you don't have a DjViewer, then please download this software into your computer first: WinDjView.

A Brief Introduction:

An Introduction to Modern Astrophysics reflects the dramatic changes and advancements in astrophysics that have occurred over the past decade. This is an excellent textbook introducing all the essentials of modern astrophysics, in a clear and systematic way. The book is much more theoretical and full to the brim with useful equations, facts, theorems, definitions, lots of worked examples, plenty of problems to challenge you.  This book is also an excellent support to prepare for the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics.
