International Medicine and Health Olympiad (IMHO) 2026

Why does your heart suddenly beat faster before an exam?

Why can your body remember a virus it encountered years ago?

And why does standing up too quickly sometimes make the entire room spin for a second?

For most of us, these are passing curiosities. For a future physician, they are the beginning of much larger questions.

The International Medicine & Health Olympiad (IMHO) is built for high school students who enjoy asking precisely these questions. Rather than treating medicine as an exercise in memorizing anatomical terms, the competition asks students to connect biology, physiology, pathology, and clinical reasoning.

And for students interested in medicine, biology, neuroscience, public health, biotechnology, or biomedical research, this is certainly a competition worth exploring.
