Engineering Students Association of Bangladesh (ESAB) is going to organize “National Robotics Festival 2014”, the biggest robotics festival in the country. Although the program is intended for the University students, there is a competition called “Exploring the Dreams” for High School (Grade 9 to 12) students, in which you’ve to dream about a robot what will be able to do something according to their wish.

Objective:
Robotics is not only the matter of engineers.
People all around the world always fascinate about robots. And college going
students who are interested in technology they are highly fascinated by robotics.
In this National Robotics Festival we want to
reveal their dream by showcasing their innovation. We want school-college going
students to dream about a robot what will be able to do something according to
their wish. We never want to limit their dream with any restriction. Through
this platform they will be encouraged to meet the real life scenario with a
vision to motivate them to indulge in their passion for robotics.
Gameplay:
The motive is to dream a robot that can
perform some tasks according to their dream.
Task:
·
To write a description (we call it abstract) with illustration about
the robot. What key features the robot may have. [ Maximum
4 page with regular font and spacing will be allowed ]

Describe the operations the robot will perform.
·
How the robot will perform the operation. Provide as much detail as
possible. For Example –using flow
charts/algorithms/drawings.
·
Use 1.5’/2’ art paper to make a poster with the
sketch of your robot and mention the key portions of it. You will have to bring
this poster in the festival.
Judging
Criteria:
Based
on Abstract – 50% weight will come from here.

Creativity of the idea (30%)
·
Feasibility of the idea (20%)
·
Details of the technical description (50%)
·
Based
on Poster Presentation - 50% weight will come from here.
·
Creativity of the presentation (30%)
·
Feasibility of the prototype (20%)
·
Details of the technical description (50%)
Rules:
A-GENERAL
- Each team will consist 2 members.
- Members should have the valid studentship of any govt. authorized school/college.
- Students from class 9 to 12 can participate.
- English and Bangla both language are allowed.
- A team can submit only one idea.
Decision of Judges
Decision of the judges will be the final and
judges are having the full rights to take any decision regarding results.
Advisors of this competition have the superior power on judgment.
Changes
to Rules and Deadlines
Contest organizing team reserves the full
rights to change the rules & regulations and also the deadlines as well.

Location
The competition (semi-finals, finals and
award ceremony) will take place in Dhaka City. No TA-DA will be provided for
any event.
Copyright
Submitted works’ copyright will be shared
with festival organizing committee.
Assessments
and Awards
·
Works submitted must meet content
requirements and reflect the theme and mission set by the Competition
Organization Committee. They have to be reflective of the concept.
·
One winning team and One runners
up team will be awarded with cash prize.
·
Other shortlisted contestants
will issue shortlisted certificate for contestants who have completed but did
not receive any of the above awards and certificate for contestants whose works
are not completed for some reason.
